Hey there Queenz,

So today’s My Room Monday (MRM) post is about MEDITATION. I chose this topic because it’s for sure a beneficial habit that you can complete right in the comfort of your very own room. So there are no excuses. If you’ve engaged in meditation of any kind I'm sure you can vouch for how beneficial it is to your overall mental and physical health.

Meditation is a way of connecting the mind and body to help manage stress, practice self and social awareness, train your attention, and control negative thoughts and emotions.

After working to make meditation a habitual part of your routine, you will start to see a lot more clarity in your life path, as well as an improvement in your daily mood. Unexpected situations become more controllable due to meditation helping you to disidentify with your emotions.

When introducing meditation into your lifestyle, it’s important to know it does not have to be lengthy or super detailed. The point is intent.

Tips & advice to help you make meditation a daily habit:

  • Start with a guided meditation that lasts 2-10 min

  • Practice controlled breathing

  • Pay attention to the physical sensations of your body

  • Be aware of any emotional triggers, and evaluate your energy

  • Rid of limitations and judgment

  • Get in a comfortable position, in a quiet area

  • Set aside a realistic time when you have quietness (typically early in the AM before you leave the house and start your day)

I started by going on youtube and apple music searching for 2-4 min meditations. My searches depended on my current mood, or how I desired to feel at that moment. It became a great reset and a way to control/align my thoughts as well as my emotions.

[MY ROOM MONDAY ASSIGNMENT]

I challenge each of you to complete 1-2 meditations this week and share which ones you chose to do here in the comments and how it made you feel. comment if you’d like any recommendations for specific things such as: stress, anxiety, focus, muscle relaxation, mindfulness, breathing, or whatever you’d like to practice gaining more control over in your life! (Drop suggestions in the comments & ill comment back with a couple of recommendations)
